WHO SHOULD JOIN?
Rocknasium maintains a strong commitment to welcoming kids of all ages and experience levels. Rocknasium’s Youth Programs encourage hard work, problem solving, patience and perseverance and our experienced coaches will build young climbers’ skills and fitness through 18-week seasonal programs. Our programs are also FUN! Over the years Rocknasium’s Youth Programs have helped to produce many lifelong climbers and outdoor enthusiasts, including world class professional climbers such as Beth Rodden. The Rocknasium Youth Team Program is suitable for all climbers age 6 to 18, with any level of climbing experience. WHICH DAY IS RIGHT FOR ME?
Junior Team
Ages 6-10
Great for younger kids who are excited about climbing! Gain confidence, and learn basic skills on the wall through supervised climbing time and climbing games.
Pre-requisites: Participated in 2 or more kid climbs or 1 week of summer camp within previous year
Requirements: Committment to full 18-week season required
Climbing Club
Ages 10-16
The perfect follow up to our summer camp, climbers will learn how to top-rope belay, lead climb, and other climbing techniques through skill workshops and challenging activities.
Pre-requisites: Graduating from Junior Team or participated in 2 or more kid climbs or 1 week of summer camp within previous year
Requirements: Committment to full 18-week season required
Team Rocknasium
Ages 12-18
Ideal for any climbers looking to push their climbing to the next level. Team Rocknasium focuses heavily on training for competitions, and incorporates climbing workouts with cross-training off the wall.
Pre-requisites: Graduating from climbing club or similar program at other gym or significant & consistent climbing experience AND complete tryouts, must know how to lead climb or be willing to learn
Requirements: Committment to full 18-week season required & YCL participation required
WANT TO JOIN?
Junior Team & Climbing Club memberships are $120 per month and include the unlimited climbing access of a regular Rocknasium membership, PLUS the one structured coaching session per week AND free gear rental for all scheduled practices!
Team Rocknasium memberships are $190 per month and also include all the benefits of any regular Rocknasium membership PLUS structured coaching sessions twice per week.
Our Youth Programs run on a seasonal basis with registration opening 7-8 weeks prior to the new start of a season. WHICH DAY IS RIGHT FOR ME?
—Afterschool Juniors (Wednesdays, Thursdays OR Fridays, 4:00 to 5:30 pm):
The Rocknasium Afterschool Juniors program is designed for beginner climbers age 6 to 14 and provides a fun introduction to climbing, group interaction, and exercise for the young climber. Coaching, problem solving challenges, team-building games, fun fitness activities and fun supervised climbing.
—Climbing Club (Tuesdays, 4:00-5:30 pm):
Designed for intermediate climbers age 10 to 16, the Rocknasium Climbing Club is focused on developing climbing skills, technique and climbing specific strength and endurance. Warm-ups, technical climbing skills and drills, group climbing exercises, and LOTS of climbing time help advance the climber’s ability and confidence.
—Team Rocknasium (Mondays and Thursdays, 4:30-6:30 pm):
Designed for more experienced and advanced climbers age 12 to 18, Team Rocknasium is designed for climbers who wish to push their climbing ability to a new level – including competitions and the great outdoors!
Team Rocknasium practices begin with a comprehensive warm-up, followed by climbing skill exercises, climbing workouts and then general fitness exercises. Our coaches are involved but keep the vibe casual – we are there to provide motivation and inspiration, structure and guidance, but also allow our youth climbers freedom to enjoy climbing in their own ways.
While not a required part of our programs, some of our Team Rocknasium members are active competition climbers. To that end, we as coaches encourage our kids to take advantage of opportunities at national, regional, and local climbing competitions. Organizations like USA Climbing and the Northern California Youth Climbing League (YCL), run well-structured competition series’ each year.

Monthly youth program memberships are $60 per month and include the unlimited climbing access of a regular Rocknasium membership, PLUS the one structured coaching session per week AND free gear rental for all scheduled practices!
Team Rocknasium memberships are $75 per month and also include all the benefits of any other Rocknasium membership PLUS TWO structured coaching sessions per week.
