Liz Colenzo
Pilates, Yoga and Group Fitness Instructor

Liz began practicing yoga in the 90’s as a mind-body compliment to dance and athletics.  In 2007, Liz completed her comprehensive 200 hour Vinyasa Yoga training at CorePower Yoga of Portland and shortly after, her Pilates training with Balanced Body University. Liz’s classes are primarily rooted in the alignment principles of Anusara and Iyengar Yoga within the movement oriented framework of Vinyasa Yoga. In addition, she incorporates the muscular stability and mobility principles of classic Pilates and barre.  Liz loves to offer breath driven, movement oriented classes that balance alignment, strength, flexibility and personal expression.

Pilates is a total body system of exercises designed to develop muscular strength, flexibility and joint mobility, and well as balance and inner awareness. In particular, students can expect to increase core abdominal strength. Pilates is also a great way to alleviate back pain, improve posture and train for injury prevention.

Vinyasa Pilates Fusion:
Blend the invigorating practice of Vinyasa Yoga with the controlled movements of Pilates. Students can expect to develop postural stability and muscular control in the body to simultaneously stretch certain muscle groups while strengthening others, with a constant root in core abdominal strength. Those most familiar with Pilates will be able to experience the deeper abdominal controls of the yoga bandhas, gain flexibility and strength in the limbs and enjoy bringing classic Pilates principles into a more dynamic, total body practice. Those most familiar with yoga will learn to balance flexibility with stability by way of the postural principles of Pilates. In addition, yogis can expect to develop greater core abdominal control essential for advanced yoga practices, particularly inversions, planks and arm balances. For those that love both yoga and Pilates, this is a great opportunity to integrate the universal anatomical principles that are necessary for both practices.

Check out Jules’ group fitness classes where he’ll take you different progressions of highly effective functional movements including pushups, renegade rows, burpees, squats and various core exercises to get you moving like a pro.

In addition to his NSCA certification and personal training experience, Jules has a BS in Exercise Biology from UC Davis and is currently pursuing a career in physical therapy. He has always been involved in sports, and is always looking to increase his physical fitness, and performance. From skateboarding to doing handstands, to squats or power cleans, Jules loves to learn and loves to move! He became certified in personal training through the NSCA after finding that he wanted to share his passion with others. Jules specializes in strength training, functional fitness, as well as mobility techniques to help with rehab or prehab.


Carolina Ehrlich
Yoga Instructor
Carolina began practicing an alignment-based style of yoga while she was a graduate student in Art History in 2005. She went on to study Ashtanga yoga for several years at Miami Life Center under world-renowned teachers Tim Feldmann and Kino MacGregor. She’s taken extensive workshops with Ken Von Roenn III, Lino Miele, John Friend, Manorama, Tim Miller, Laruga Glaser, Mark Robberds, Sat Rattan Kaur Khalsa and many other great teachers who influence and inspire her. In 2009 she traveled to India to travel and study under Sri R. Sharath Jois at the KPJAYI in Mysore. Since moving to Davis in 2011, Carolina has taken a 200 hour teacher training in power vinyasa yoga at Zuda Yoga in Sacramento and continues her study of the Ashtanga method under her teacher Kory Sheffer at Ekam yoga and Wellness in Napa. Climbing Recovery:
Are you in need of some “me” time to slow down and reconnect to yourself? Join her for a challenging vinyasa flow and yin practice. This class will warm you up with a strong slow flow and then have you melt into passive poses that stretch and open your body. Class ends with restorative poses to cool you down and prepare you for a good night’s sleep. Take advantage of a small class size for individualized instruction and plenty of bolsters, straps and blocks to help you relax into the restorative postures.

Are you interested in taking your yoga practice to the next level? In this class, you’ll synchronize your breathing and engage your pelvic floor muscles so that you can delve deeper into your forward folds while opening your hips and hamstrings. You will have several opportunities to challenge yourself with arm balances, standing balancing poses, and inversions. Take advantage of a small class size (max capacity of 8 students) for individualized instruction and assists.


April La Torre
AcroYoga Instructor and Yoga Slacker

April is a power and acro-yogi who aims to empower all body types and skill levels with the ability to float and fly. She inspires strength from within (especially through the core) with a dynamic communication and trust-based practice. You can typically find her balancing on hands, feet, and slacklines.

Acroyoga is a playful partner practice involving trust, communication, and strength. With combined effort, we create exciting shapes and movement in our bodies. Each class cultivates strength that is to be applied in a way that you may not have imagined! Take your practice and recreation to new heights. No experience or partner necessary, come play!

Also look for April at our monthly AcroYoga-Slackline-Aerial-Pole Jam Sessions - usually the Third or Fourth Friday of every month!

Lori Shirran M.Ed., E-RYT 500
Yoga Instructor

Lori’s relationship with yoga began back in the early ‘80’s, with the solo study of Iyengar manuals, and the occasional group workshop.  Her practice and passion for yoga philosophy deepened during college, and through her travel experiences, as she connected with master teachers of Iyengar, Sivananda and Ashtanga.  She took her first yoga teacher training program in 2003, paving the way to over 500 hrs. of Yoga Alliance certified study in various styles (Hatha, Yinyasa, Sivananda) and over a decade of teaching experience.  Lori serves a wide audience of adult practitioners, teaching classes such as “Hatha Flow”, and “Restorative-Yin Yoga”.  Her classes are often described as creative, inspiring and heartfelt.  Her devotion to yoga as a life practice has led her to live, learn and teach in yoga communities and ashrams throughout the world, including Canada, Mexico, USA, Japan, Indonesia, Nepal and India.  Lori currently lives and teaches in Davis, California.
