Monthly Youth Program Memberships

Rocknasium maintains a strong commitment to being a welcoming and fun ambassador for the sport of rock climbing. Our youth team program exemplifies our commitment to providing an enjoyable and educational climbing experience to children of all ages and skill levels. Rocknasium’s Youth Programs provide kids and young adults the opportunity to hone and advance their climbing skills under the tutelage of accomplished climbing coaches all within a group of their peers. At team practices we encourage hard work, problem solving, patience, perseverance, fitness and of course - FUN. Over the years Rocknasium’s Youth Programs have helped to produce many lifelong climbers and outdoor enthusiasts, including several world class professional climbers such as Beth Rodden.


As a three-tiered program, the Rocknasium Youth Team Program is suitable for all climbers age 6 to 18, with any level of climbing experience. The three-tier program allows a young climber at any skill level to join and advance through the program. All that is required to join is enthusiasm and energy.


Practices begin with a light warm-up, followed by climbing skill exercises, climbing workouts and then general fitness exercises.  Our practices are casual in the sense that we, the coaches, are not there to “crack the whip” but instead act as facilitators of the climbing experience.  We are not interested in creating robots, but we will offer guidance and structure when needed.

While not a required part of our programs, some of our “Team Rocknasium” members are active competition climbers.  To that end, we as coaches encourage our kids to take advantage of and have fun at national, regional, and local climbing competitions.  Organizations like USA Climbing and the Northern California Youth Climbing Leage (YCL), run well-structured competition series’ each year. 

    —Juniors (Wednesdays, 4:00 to 5:30 pm OR Fridays, 4:00 to 5:30 pm):
      The Rocknasium Junior Team is designed for climbers age 6 to 11 and provides a fun introduction to climbing, group interaction, and exercise for the young climber. Climbing relays, group stretches, team-building games, and various other activities incorporate fun, exercise, and community in the Junior Team.

    —Club (Tuesdays, 4:00-5:30 OR Thursdays, 4:00 to 5:30 pm):
    Designed for climbers age 10 to 16, the Rocknasium Club Team assists in developing a young climber’s climbing skills, physical fitness, and team skills. Warm-ups, stretching, technical skills, exercise routines, and climbing workshops help advance the climber’s ability and confidence in their skill sets and physical fitness.

    —Team Rocknasium (Mondays, 5:00-7:00 pm):
    Designed for climbers age 12 to 18, Team Rocknasium is for more experienced climbers who wish to take their climbing ability to a new level - including competitions and the great outdoors!



Monthly youth program memberships are $50 per month and include the unlimited climbing access of a regular Rocknasium membership (a $39 value), PLUS the one structured coaching session per week, PLUS free gear rental for all scheduled practices!

Youth Program Members may also purchase a membership with access to rental gear at ALL times for only $69 per month (equal to the “Student w/gear” price).
