Kids Programs

Team sports like soccer and little league play an important role in your child’s development. Fundamentals like teamwork, communication, and competition become essential as children grow and deal with an increasing number of people. After almost a decade as a positive model to kids we submit that team sports are only one part of a child’s well-rounded development.

Problem Solving and Self-reliance
Alternative individual sports like kayaking, backpacking, and rock climbing also play important rolls in your child’s development. By exposing your child to alternative individual sports such as rock climbing he or she will learn self-reliance, self-discipline and self-esteem. All in an environment that promotes competition within the self, rather than with other individual.

One of the reasons kids stay with alternative sports in general and Rocknasium specifically, is the casually environment and lack of pressure promoted by our facility, and our sport.

“Everyone at Rocknasium has really been there for me throughout my life. As a rambunctious kid, they quite literally taught me the ropes. As a competition climber, they gave me space to refine my athletic skills. As a full-time climbing bum, they gave me a sense of purpose and belonging, not to mention some temporary employment! Now, getting ready to go to law school and head off into the “real” world, the Rocknasium continually reestablishes itself as a foundation of identity and community on which I can undoubtedly rely.”—Victor Copeland
