Kids Programs

Problem Solving and Self-reliance
Rock climbing is a great activity that can play an important roll in your child’s development, both physical and mental. By exposing your child to rock climbing, he or she will learn self-reliance, self-discipline and self-esteem through physical and social interaction.

In a environment filled with support and guidance, and free of pressure, the Youth programs offered at Rocknasium promote competition within the self, rather than with other individuals.  Easily tailored to the individual climber, rock climbing allows for the setting and attaining of personal goals, a characteristic largely emphasized by the kid program directors. Additionally, the Youth programs instill a sense of team support and interaction, making for a well-balanced program for the developing individual.

“Everyone at Rocknasium has really been there for me throughout my life. As a rambunctious kid, they quite literally taught me the ropes. As a competition climber, they gave me space to refine my athletic skills. As a full-time climbing bum, they gave me a sense of purpose and belonging, not to mention some temporary employment! Now, getting ready to go to law school and head off into the “real” world, the Rocknasium continually reestablishes itself as a foundation of identity and community on which I can undoubtedly rely.”—Victor Copeland
